Coronavirus Is Out Of Control

Coronavirus is absolutely out of control. In Nevada, the governor says to stay inside so the tourists who come in from all over the US can infect the casinos and spend their money while we stay home. Doesn’t make sense, but then again, governor Sisolak has contracted the virus. He is so careful about wearing a mask, too.
We bowl two days a week, and I’m thinking we don’t for the next two weeks. At least leave Phil home if we do go. President elect Biden says on the first day in office he is going to require a mask mandate. I don’t think that will be enough..
Over 150,000 new cases in the US daily, but of course that is because we do the most testing, our fearful leader said yesterday. His first press conference in 7 days nd Trump still won’t try to get a handl on the virus. Or his election that he lost decisively. What a f’n moron.
As Ari Velcher said on CNN, either lead, or get the hell out of the way and let Biden lead.

Trump thinks he election was stolen, and he lost being president. Does he really think democrats could do that, but decided that they wanted to keep Lyndsey Graham and Mitch McConnell? He really can’t be that insane, can he?
Trump on Monday opened up a new super pac, to fight his election fraud. It’s just going to be used to pay off his 400 million dollar loans or just line his pockets.

Dodgers Win theWorld Series! First since 1988!
The last time the Dodgers won a world series Jennifer was 4 years old. The Lakers won the World championship in 1988, and the Dodgers did also. Last night the Dodgers won the world series by beating the Tampa Bay Rays 3-1, in the 6th game of the world series.
An in an odd side note, in the 7th inning of the world series game, 3rd baseman Justin Turner was pulled from the game after his coronovirus test came back positive.
He celebrated on the field and took the team photograph without a mask, sitting front and center right next to the world series trophy.
I just hope he didn’t cough on it before a team mate kissed it.

Weird Night of Bowling
Was a weird night of bowling last night. I started with a spare, 5 in a row, open (missed 10 pin), and then 2 more in a row. I ended up with a 221 game. Could have easily been 250’s. Then I couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn. Weird how the oil pattern changes to just make you stink.

The Trump administration messing with the CDC, messing specifically with their scientists' guidance on Covid, that's very bad. That is terrible, the way they have sabotaged our own government's most important assets for fighting this pandemic that's killed 200,000 of our fellow Americans. But you know what? That's what the Trump administration has been like.
What is worse is the CDC acceding to this interference, letting it happen.

I Can’t Breathe - George Floyd
8 days ago, in Minneapolis, MN, an African American suspect was pinned to the ground by a white officer’s knee for 9 minutes, 24 seconds who had his knee in the person’s neck. George Floyd died at the scene. Three other officers were standing by, and at times pinning him down.
what’s crazy is it was a forgery case, the suspect was arrested, put in the police car, and then taken out of the car and put prone, where the officer in the case put his full weight on Floyd’s’ neck, why was he taken out of the unit. Once in the unit, he is secure, and no reason at all for him to be taken out of the unit. Makes no sense.

Trump had te national guard unit clear out peaceful protesters at the park across the street from the White House so he could walk across the street to do a photo op in front of St John Episcopal church. Teargas and horses were used to move out the protesters. They even used teargas on the priests who were guarding the church.
The president is such a horrible leader.
Stupid NHL draft!
The LA Kings finished with the 2nd worst record in the NHL this year, (Ottawa Senators were the worst). Yesterday the NHL had the ‘draft lottery’ where they selected who was going to get the #1 overall pick.
The following is a list of the odds to win the #1 pick, and the odds to NOT get a top 5 pick.
Chicago had a 92% chance of NOT getting a top 5 pick, and NY Rangers had a 77% chance of getting a top 6 pick, and they pick #3 and #2.
In the “old” days, there used to be a bingo ball thingy, and they picked in the reverse order, and it was “out there for all to see”. They way they do it now, Bill Daly, the Deputy Commissioner of the NHL comes out with a stack of envelopes, already with the worst to first pick. It just leaves a sour taste in your mouth that it doesn’t look “above board”.
A top 5 pick is still great, heck Kopitar was #11 pick, Brown a #13 pick, and Luc Robitaille, the Kings president and hall of fame left winger, was picked in the 9th round, and they don’t even have a 9th round anymore. So many 1st round picks don’t even play in the NHL, but having the chance to get a “Crosby/Gretzky” like player in Jack Hughes or Kappo Kakko, the Finish born player
Dominican Republic - Puerto Plata
Went to the Dominican Republic for a week using a timeshare transfer that we have. used the timeshare, program, and unfortunately, we had no idea what we were in for.
After flying all night, and checking into the place, which was maybe a 2 on a 5 star rating. (They had a small leaf filled pool, the beach was horrible, they only had 1 of the 3 restaurants open). They immediately took us to another timeshare place, which was about an hour away, “just to see what it looks like”.
After being shown the Beautiful grounds, 10 pools, 26 bars, 10 restaurants, they take us to a timeshare presentation. We told them FOUR times that we were not interested in getting another time share, we already had one. They assured us that they were going to pay off our time share when we purchased this one. (which actually is not a timeshare company but a “club”.
We signed on the dotted line, and then went back an hour to get our things from the hotel and then an hour back to the Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Club.
Blowout - 7/27/12
Had my first blowout ever while actually driving the car. Driving home from work on I-76 right off of coming from I-25. Luckily no one around me and was able to get the car off the road without incident. Almost a brand new set of tires too!

New car - 9/23/12

Well we went five years without a car payment but finally had to get rid of the XL-7. got another Suzuki but it gets 35 mpg and rides pretty well. Stupid XL-7 had to get a full valve job, and when they started looking inside, they realized that the oil line was almost fully clogged, Once it was fixed, the XL-7 smoked more than any piece of S^^^ car I’d ever seen on patrol We drove it for 2 days to work and on the 2nd day stopped back at the dealership and forced them to give us the 4,000 off the price of this car. With all the service that I had done on that car in 5 years, they should have realized that there was something wrong when the oil changes showed spotless oil since only a drop of oil ever got thru the tube. They were shocked that I had not blown tne engine.
This was the headline November 11, 2012. less than 2 months after buying that new car and getting the extended warranty!!

We are out in California this week and brought our car xm radio toa be ase the xm radio in the rental car. We stopped @ best buy to get a car adapter and it is all hooked up but isn't working.
I called the 800 number for the Company Audiovox to see if they could help, and I was on hold for 105 minutes. I went from number 3 to number 1 in line in 18 minutes, so I stayed on hold as I figured it wouldn't be long.
At 330 pm local time I was disconnected as apparently they go home at 530 central time. I immediately called back and got the "we are currently closed msg."

Missing the ocean
Sometimes living in Colorado you miss the ocean. I have some good wave movies of the breakwater in Redondo Beach so i take it out every so often and watch it..
Whale in Redondo Beach

We went over to look for dolphins on Saturday and saw a few of them over in Redondo, but over by Knob Hill there was a whale that was caught in the surf line. We thought it was distressed and trying to beach itself but after about 45 min playing just outside the waves it went out into deeper water. I had a lousy lens on my camera so didn’t get a good picture of it. That is what happens when you only leave the house with only one lens.. :(
The house carpeting was put in this past week, and they fixed and stained the hardwood flooring. We asked for pictures from the salesman but of course he didn't come through with any. He's totally useless in that department. When we first bought the house he said that they would take weekly pictures and when they did anything noteworthy they'd take pictures for us. Well that happened TWICE without asking for them. Now we have to beg for a friggin picture and then its only 1 picture. I could see if there was 5' of snow on the ground and 15 out but its nice weather now.
4-6 weeks for the cabinets
They said it will take 4-6 weeks for the cabinets to be replaced. That will put us in Mid April I think. The rest of the house is mostly done, so I think they will have some dead time until they get the cabinets. They finished the driveway but it is still covered in plastic so they couldn’t send us a picture of it yet.
Kings win over the Avalanche! They were up by 2, 2-0 and then in the 3rd they were down by 2 as the Av's scored 4 straight goals. The Kings tied it up with 3.4 sec left and Dustin Brown scored the game winner in the shootout in the sixth round of the shootout. Great game!!!
Going out to Colorado (Again!)
I'm going out to Colorado on Thursday for the day. 1 day up and back - only 188.00 r/trip. such a deal. I need to find out what is going on with the house and take some pictures since the reps at Standard Pacific aren't doing what they are supposed to. They said "weekly updates with photos" and if they aren't going to do that, then DON"T TELL US YOU ARE GOING TO!. I shouldn't have to fly out every three weeks to see what is happening with the house. I know they have other houses that are being built and some of the owners may be out of state like us, but its bs that we don't know what is going on with the place.
RANT OVER
I had the stitches removed from the left hand surgery and it is feeling so much better, I'm probably going back to work in 3 weeks. It'll only be for about 6 weeks until I quit for the move but it will be nice to get a paycheck for a few weeks and see the guys/gals again. I'll hate having to get up at 530 am again though. I won't miss that!
