Luc Robitaille’s last Kings home practice

Luc Robitaille of the Los Angeles Kings is the highest scoring left wing in history.  He scored over 660 goals, won a Stanley Cup with Detroit Red Wings, and is retiring on Monday.

Robitaille, 40, has played 19 seasons in the NHL – including 14 with the Kings – after the club selected him in the ninth-round (171st overall) in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft. In 1,428 career regular season games with the Kings, Detroit Red Wings, New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins, Robitaille has 1,394 points (668-726=1,394) and 1,175 penalty minutes. In 159 playoff games, he has 127 points (58-69=127) and 174 penalty minutes.

We went down and watched his last two practices at the Kings Practice facility.  Unfortunately the shooting through the glass isn't good for taking good photographs, but there are some good ones in there.

World baseball game - USA/Korea

I went to the USA/Korea baseball game at Anaheim Stadium tonite.  I've not been to Anaheim Stadium since Carl Yastremski's last game, for some reason I've always been a Dodger fan (and Red Sox) but never even went to the RedSox/Angel playoff games or got into the Angels when they won the WS..

Anyway, it was a good game, Korea played amazing, and won the game.  Here are a couple collages I did of the game

Dallas, TX

Went out to see Jack for the weekend. First time for Janis to visit, I’d been there early to watch a hockey game there.

We went to see the mothership, AKA Dallas Cowboys stadium. It’s about 10 miles from Jack’s house, and we can see the building from the backyard!

We also went to see Dealey Plaza, where JFK was assassinated, and did a tour of the Texas Schoolbook building. Being a history buff of the assassination, it was good to finally check this off the bucket list.

The NHL is back. (almost)

The NHL is back (almost). They almost have ratified the CBA and the Kings prospect camp started yesterday.  Unfortunately with working full time I don't have the time to go watch the camp.

It is the first year in 6 that I won't be going and taking pictures at the camp - last year I took a lot of pictures.  Sidney Crosby the 16 year old (at the time) phenom was there and he is touted to be the next Wayne Gretzky.  I took some good pictures of him - Also took some good ones of Fukufuji, the good young Japanese goaltender that the Kings drafted.

Taking a breather after making some good saves
