Had the chance to photograph some horses this week., which I love to do.  Every year I go out to Craig to shoot the wild horse roundup in May., and I've had a chance to shoot some horse jumping competitions.  Here are some of the photos taken this week.

Came out to Los Angeles this week, 2 Kings game, visit with the family, and home again.  Kings played Washington Capitals on Monday and we were not looking forward to it as the Kings had gotten shut out by Columbus on Saturday 1-0.  (the worst team in the league) and the caps were one of the highest scoring teams in the league but we ended up winning it anyway!  Last nite we went to Hollywood Park racetrack to the Kings annual "Meet the Players" event where you can stand in line to get something signed, get a picture taken with the player., etc.  Funny that I probably lived 8mi away from Hollywood park racetrack for 40+ years and never went there to watch a race.  Nice event but they really need to either stop having free food or make the food better, as what they gave you was pretty much inedible.  (I tossed it and didn't eat what they gave you, a free hot dog (probably 1/2 the size of the smallest hot dog you can get in an 8-pack in the grocery store, and nachos which consisted of a package of cold cheese sauce and a bag of chips.  If you are going to do something for the season ticket holders, make it meaningful or just give us the chance to say hi to the players and get a picture and then we won't have to bitch and moan about the bad food at the events.

Drove to Aguanga after the event to see my inlaws for a few days, Aguanga is 25mi E of Temecula and I think Aguanga is indian for "east of nowhere". Nice to see them and hang out with all the horses (they live on a 39 acre ranch). Wish I could have seen Jennifer and Neal this trip but unfortunately they start softball today (Wed) and that was the only day that we could see them since we have hockey game Mon/Thurs and the meet the players event on Tuesday.

Well we had a real nice time in Cambria visiting with Elliot and Rob. Eliot had previously had 2 strokes so we went out to see him and his son Rob (Janis' cousin). We got to Cambria just in time too as Robbie called when we were turning on the street to the hospital saying Elliot was being released right then. So we got there to basically take him out to the car and drive up to Elliots house in Cambria. Our hotel rooms that we rented was in San Luis Obisbo near the hospital and the Madonna Inn, so we quickly cancelled that room and tried getting a hotel room covered with our 'points' near Cambria, but they didn't have any available. It was spring break week up there so a hotel near the ocean was not going to be cheap. Luckily Rob works as an auditor in one of the hotels so we were able to get the employee rate for 2 rooms which was real nice.

We saw a lot of California poppies on the road driving up there, but not a lot of wildflowers yet. Probably about a month too early. . poppy

Janis took this when I slowed down on the side of the road - great shot Janis! On the way home from Cambria we stopped at Casa De Carlos, where Janis' family has been eating for 40+ years. It was Phil's birthday on Friday so for his birthday dinner we took him there after a 5 hour drive from Cambria. The owner now (son of the original owners) was there which was a nice surprise as Larry usually works at the Chatsworth location instead of the the Woodland Hills location which was down the street from Janis' family house when they lived there. casa

By the time we got back from Woodland Hills and dinner which started @ 8:45pm, we got back to Solana Beach at 12:20 am!

We are out in California this week and brought our car xm radio toa be ase the xm radio in the rental car. We stopped @ best buy to get a car adapter and it is all hooked up but isn't working.

I called the 800 # for audiovox to see if they could help, and I was on hold for 105 minutes. I went from number 3 to number 1 in line in 18 minutes, so I stayed on hold as I figured it wouldn't be long.

At 330 pm local time I was disconnected as apparently they go home at 530 central time. I immediately called back and got the "we are currently closed msg."

I am so pissed at AUDIOVOX
