  • I went up to Alaska this weekend - 3 day weekend so why not go 3700 miles away??  LOL

You take a float plane 3 1/2 hrs west of Anchorage to Katmai National Park, and when we get off the plane, the pilot said see you in an hour and a half!  It cost 600.00 for the flight.  I told him "I didn't spend 600.00 and this family (family of 4 from Thosand Oaks, CA) didn't pay 2400.00 for an hour and a half.  I said we'll see you in 4 hours.

Katmai national park is an amazing place - here are a few photos I took of  the bears and the salmon - I would love to do that every 3 day weekend - just go to a different part of the country and take some photos ..

  • I'm off to Anchorage tomorrow - going up to shoot some bears and salmon.  Hope the weather is good.   I'm pretty excited to go. Katmai Peninsula is one of the best places in the world to watch the salmon run and the grizzly bears feeding on them.  Hopefully I get some good shots and some good eagle pictures.  This is one that I took last month when I was up there on my honeymoon.

  • The NHL is back (almost). They almost have ratified the CBA and the Kings prospect camp started yesterday.  Unfortunately with working full time I don't have the time to go watch the camp.

It is the first year in 6 that I won't be going and taking pictures at the camp - last year I took a lot of pictures.  Sidney Crosby the 16 year old (at the time) phenom was there and he is touted to be the next Wayne Gretzky.  I took some good pictures of him - Also took some good ones of Fukufuji, the good young Japanese goaltender that the Kings drafted.

Taking a breather after making some good saves
